THE END OF THE MADNESS

Sunday was a huge day for the Bears, with a prime time game against Creighton.  The morning began by heading to a coffee shop to catch up on some last minute homework.  We had to be downstairs in the lobby for send off at 3:30pm, which means we had to begin getting ready around noon.  We got downstairs, cheered on the team, and loaded our bus to Ball Arena.  Everyone was super anxious for the game, and we ended up warming up our tricks and stunts for over an hour in preparation for prime time.  The game went back and forth, and we ended up falling short to Creighton, knocking Baylor out of the bracket.  However, we back the Bears no matter what and we are always proud to wear green and gold!

The plane ride home was very silent, yet full of gratitude for every member of the team that made it possible, including the operations and administration team.  The spirit squad loaded the plane first with administration and basketball following right behind.  Before takeoff, we had a special moment praying over the trip and every member on board the flight.  The Baylor community is a special place, and I am very blessed to be a small part of it.

Monday came, and we landed in Waco around 3:00am.  I drove back home from the airport, and slept practically all day.  The rest of the week felt as if it would never end!  However, this week we had practice three days in a row to prepare for our competition in April, and it was quite exhausting.  We chugged along and finally made it to Thursday.  We had a great practice, saying goodbye to the cheer seniors, yet still not being able to fully comprehend how the season has already come and gone.

The weekend has come, and it is finally back to reality for me.  I went through my week still thinking I was on break, and was gladly mistaken when all my assignments piled up at once!  Long story short, I am forever grateful for Baylor and cannot believe I cheered my last game as a junior this week.  It may be the end of the madness for us this year, but the Baylor reign has only just begun!
